Carrot Toss

Carrot Toss

A simple, silly game that had everyone laughing… perfect for Easter or just for fun.

Share to:

We made ours using an old cardboard box and turned it into a bunny by drawing on a big face and cutting a hole where the mouth would be. Then the kids took turns tossing carrots in.

That’s it.

Nothing fancy, but so much fun.

You can use real carrots, toy ones, or even rolled-up socks if you’re indoors or want to make it a bit lighter. Everyone gets involved with this one, and it’s great for all ages.

We ended up doing it again and again just because the kids kept asking for “one more go.”

You’ll need

  • A cardboard box

  • Scissors or a craft knife (for adults to cut the hole)

  • Textas or crayons to draw a bunny face

  • Carrots (real or pretend) for tossing

How to make it

Draw a bunny face on the front of the box and cut a hole where the mouth would go. That’s your target. Set it up on the ground or a low table, stand back a little, and take turns trying to toss the carrots in. You can make it harder by moving further away, or easier by scooting the box closer.

What it encourages

Gross motor skills

Turn-taking and teamwork

Creative thinking

Lots of laughter and movement

A last note

This is a great way to reuse old boxes and add a bit of movement to your day. If you're using real carrots, keep an eye out for bruising and maybe have a snack one ready too. It's easy to adapt and fun to repeat… plus it's the kind of activity that feels just as fun for grown-ups too.
