Wild Steps

NATURE CONNECTION | COMMUNITY | WHOLE-CHILD GROWTH

These sessions are designed for home educating families and those exploring the path, with children aged 4–13+.

Together, we learn, grow, connect and create in ways that support the whole child and the whole family.

Our Locations

Helping families thrive in Lutruwita (Tasmania, Australia)

Mangalore

Our Wild Steps Home base

Just 38 minutes north of Hobart, our Mangalore location is a peaceful, private property surrounded by pine, gum and native wattle trees. It’s a space where kids can explore, play and connect with nature in a way that feels free and unstructured.

I feel so grateful to call this place home. It gives us the space to set up a garden, a mud kitchen and plenty of open-ended play areas where kids can build, create and let their imaginations run wild.

Easy to Get To

We have families joining us from all over and Mangalore is an easy drive from:

Brighton – 10 minutes
Claremont – 20 minutes
New Norfolk – 25 minutes
Richmond – 30 minutes
Oatlands – 35 minutes

We also have regular families from Orford, Sandfly and Carlton making the trip.

2025 – Term 4

Dates: 14th October- 17th December 2025
Theme: Discovering Fire
When: Wednesdays, 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM

  • Please note: We’ll have a local excursion in week 5 (always within 30 minutes drive of Mangalore)

  • We are taking expressions of interest for our Tuesday session

Book now and join us for another term of nature, play and connection!

While younger siblings under 3 are welcome to attend Wild Steps with an older sibling, they won't participate in the term theme activities or receive a nature journal. However, there's still plenty for them to enjoy.

For children under 3, please explore our Mindful Minis sessions or our all-age inclusive Single Sessions. Do note that younger children may require some assistance with activities at our single sessions.

I appreciate your understanding as I strive to offer age-appropriate sessions for our diverse community. For more information, please refer to our FAQ section.

Heartfelt Thanks

I just want to say a huge, heartfelt thank you to the beautiful landowners, local parks, councils, volunteers and community groups who make Mindful Wild Steps possible across our little corner of the world.

Your open-hearted support means so much. It allows these wildlings to wander, explore and build real connection; with nature, each other and themselves.

It makes me so happy seeing families return, not just to the sessions, but to the land itself. These places become special to them and that’s what it’s all about.

I’m proud of the care we take, always leaving the land as we found it, with deep respect.

Thank you for being part of something that’s growing into something really beautiful.
