Ice Smash
Ice Smash is a simple sensory activity that combines science, movement, and a whole lot of fun. By freezing natural treasures inside blocks of ice, children get the opportunity to explore, investigate, and smash their way to hidden discoveries.
We froze water in balloons and containers, adding flowers, leaves, and food colouring to create colourful frozen treasures. Once frozen, the ice became a giant sensory invitation that was impossible to resist.
This activity is especially popular because it combines curiosity with action. Children love seeing what is hidden inside and finding creative ways to break the ice apart.
