ND Kids
Wild Steps: ND Kids is a weekly one-hour group for neurodivergent kids aged 4–13 and their families.
With spaces capped at 6 children, it’s a smaller, shorter option for kids who prefer fewer people and a shorter session, with familiar offerings available each week.
A formal diagnosis isn’t needed, and parents and carers stay and enjoy the hour alongside their kids.

Mangalore
Our Mindful Wild Steps home base is a peaceful, private property surrounded by pine, gum and wattle trees.
It gives us space for our mud kitchen, swings, a garden and plenty of open-ended outdoor areas for kids and families to spend time together.
Easy to Get To
We have families joining us from all over, and Mangalore is an easy drive from:

It’s really important to me that these sessions are accessible.

A few things to know
Who is ND Kids for?
ND Kids has been created specifically for neurodivergent children aged 4–13 and their families. A formal diagnosis isn’t required. Families who know, suspect or are currently exploring whether their child may be neurodivergent are welcome.
With the group capped at 6 children, we ask that these limited places are kept for families whose child would genuinely benefit from the smaller group and shorter session.
How do bookings work?
ND Kids is booked in 3-week blocks at $40 per child, with your child’s place covering all three Thursday sessions within that block.
Once the current block has started, bookings for the next 3-week block will open, and families can choose whether they’d like to book again for the next one.
Can my neurodivergent child attend Wild Steps?
Absolutely. Many neurodivergent children already attend Wild Steps and are very welcome there.
Wild Steps runs on Wednesdays for three hours with up to 13 children. ND Kids runs for one hour with up to 6 children, giving families another option if their child would prefer a smaller group or shorter session.
Is any additional support provided during ND Kids?
No formal support is provided during ND Kids. Josh will take more of a facilitator role during these sessions, which means I’ll be a little more available to chat with parents and carers if they’d like to.
I’m happy to be a listening ear, chat things through, or share a resource, website or service I happen to know about. Over the years I’ve built up a knowledge base through my own neurodivergence, personal learning and research, running Mindful Wild Steps, and things other neurodivergent families have shared with me about what has been helpful for them.
I don’t hold formal support qualifications, so anything I share is informal. I don’t provide counselling, therapy, diagnosis, referrals, medical or professional advice. Families can choose to look further into any general information or personal experiences I share.
Other parents and carers may naturally chat, share their own experiences, swap ideas or share resources too.
What happens during the session?
ND Kids is a one-hour family session with the same familiar offerings available each week. Children are free to engage with the space in the way that suits them, with their parent or carer alongside them throughout the session.
Do parents and carers stay?
Yes. Parents and carers are required to stay onsite during all Mindful Wild Steps sessions, including ND Kids, and remain responsible for the supervision and support of their own child throughout the hour.
What is your weather policy?
ND Kids follows the same weather and cancellation policies as our other Mindful Wild Steps sessions. You can read these in our Terms of Service.
For ND Kids, we may also take additional precautions based on the individual needs and sensitivities of the group attending at the time. Outdoor conditions that remain within our usual safety limits may affect individual children differently, so this can also be taken into consideration when making a decision for the group.
Any changes or cancellations will be communicated to booked families as early as reasonably possible.
