Why our own land matters

Mindful Wild Steps began as a small, heart-led offering. Over time, it has grown into something that holds many families, many stories, and many seasons.

Land represents more than space. It offers consistency. It allows families to return to the same space and find a place of familiarity and belonging.

A permanent home would create room to extend what already exists, long-term projects and a place to settle, to root, and to keep offering with integrity and steadiness.

This vision comes from a place of gratitude for where we are now and a clear sense of where this work wants to grow next. Land feels like the next natural step in caring for the community.

Why community support helps

I price sessions to stay within reach for families and community, which means there has never been much room to save on top of everyday life.

Buying land sits outside what I can manage through session income alone. Things feel tight for many people right now, and raising prices does not feel right for this work. Community support allows this vision to move forward without placing extra financial pressure on the families who come along.

To be rooted is perhaps the most important and least recognised need of the human soul.

Honouring where we are now

Currently Mindful Wild Steps runs on rented land, owned by people who have shown immense generosity, trust, and care. I am deeply grateful for this space and for the way it has allowed us to grow.

Being welcomed onto this land has made it possible for families to gather regularly, for children to return to the same place week after week, and for community to build over time. I can see the value this consistency has offered, both for the families who come along and for the work itself.

Working toward owning land is a long-term goal, with no fixed timeline, and this space may continue to hold Mindful Wild Steps for a long time yet.

The desire to own land comes from seeing how much this place has been able to offer. Owning land would allow me to expand what is already here and to offer more community-based projects over time.

Please Note: Because Mindful Wild Steps operates as a small, for-profit business rather than a registered charity, contributions toward land are gifts of support and not tax-deductable.
